Handheld Computer Programs


What: Student teams use handheld computers to explore regions of the Zoo, while trying to solve a mystery.
 
Who: Grades five - eight and home school groups
 
Where: Columbus Zoo and Aquarium
 
When: Monday through Friday year round
 
Time: Flexible.  Quests are approximately two hours in length.
 
Cost: $40 per class of 50 students within Franklin County plus Zoo admission
           $50 per class of 50 students outside Franklin County plus Zoo admission

Zoo Scene Investigators
 

Someone broke into the Zoo last night.  Can your group discover why he was there?  This program combines handheld computers, GPS and the Asia Quest region to immerse students into the world of endangered species and the illegal wildlife trade.  This quest is primarily an outdoor experience.

Treasure Quest
 

Help Jack Hanna find Grandpappy's great treasure.  Will your class be able to collect all three maps to find its location?  This program combines handheld computers, hands-on activities and the Shores region of the Zoo while students learn about zoo careers.  This quest is primarily an indoor experience.
